Last night, Eminem’s Twitter displayed a message saying that Relapse 2 was dead, presumably because of a name change. Apparently Relapse 2 was supposed to be constructed of all the song that didn’t make it onto the first Relapse, but then they went ahead and threw those first few songs from the second project onto The Refill once Relapse 2 started to become a full body of work. This namechange reflects that this is now a project that stands on its own, but is still in a way linked to Em’s last album.
The first single is produced by Jim Jonsin, and as of right now, the album also has production by Just Blaze, Boi-1da and DJ Khalil.
Eminem’s Recovery drops June 22nd.
